3 Rednecks (Prairie Berry)

3 Rednecks (Prairie Berry)

A food-friendly Cabernet Sauvignon, classy with a touch of humor.

Lawerence Elk (Prairie Berry)

Lawerence Elk (Prairie Berry)

The fruit had different characteristics with this harvest and so does the wine. We’ve heard folks who’ve loved both styles we’ve made note that the new is lighter, slightly more “sophisticated” than the Lawrence Elk of the past few years.

Calamity Jane (Prairie Berry)

Calamity Jane (Prairie Berry)

A popular sweet wine with a taste that’s reminiscent of grape jam.

Red Ass Rubarb (Prairie Berry)

Red Ass Rubarb (Prairie Berry)

Too many cooks can spoil the stew, and too many helpers in the winery can change the course of history. In the early days Ralph, our winemaker’s dad, was helping out in the winery. He accidentally added elderberry to the tank for Razzy Rhubarb wine, which, at that point, was no longer Razzy Rhubarb wine. The story goes that his face turned red and he felt like an ass for messing up the wine, so it became Red Ass Rhubarb. Add a donkey to the label and you’ve got the most famous, most award-winning wine made in South Dakota (we decided to leave out the elderberry in subsequent fermentations).

Burning Bog (Strawbale Winery)

Burning Bog (Strawbale)

Those healthy little red cranberries are fermented and bottled with just the right balance of sweet and tart. Adding Jalapenos gives the wine a flavor kick that leaves a little pepper flavor residual on your palate, without the burn.

Gold Digger (Prairie Berry)

Gold Digger (Prairie Berry)

A brilliant, crisp, semi-sweet white wine made from fresh pears.
